Mac Dell Mini 9

BTW I haven't made this clear but I'm turning the WinXP Dell Mini 9 into a Mac laptop. The hardware works perfect with it. I'll be installing OS X on it. Reportedly Wozniak saw one and said it was very cool. I've always wanted to have a Mac! :)

Still waiting...

Well, the computer got here and I'm in love. Got OS X/iLife/iWork also. Waiting on the DVD burner, books, and USB drives. The books got lost in the mail (first time I get something delivered from Amazon by A1 Courier, first package ever lost; I made sure to send some A1 hate Amazon's way and urged them to keep with UPS/FedEx/USPS). There's a bulletin board up at Amazon with over 300 posts mostly of hate for A1.

Got the idea for the game, and will start working on it this week (good old notebook and pencil). I'd play it :p

Starting up.

Finally decided to go for it.

Cost:

Dell Mini 9, 32 gig SSD (solid-state drive, no spinning hard drives), 1.3 megapix camera, 2 gig memory. - $368

External DVD burner - not necessary, but will make it a lot easier and it's good to have. It's very compact, and will help in much more than just this project. - $43

Two USB drives just for this project, 8 gigs and 1 gig - $13.50

Mac OS X, iLife, iWork - $133

Programming in Objective-C 2.0 (2nd Edition) by Stephen Kochan - $30
Beginning iPhone Development: Exploring the iPhone SDK by Dave Mark - $27

Total out of pocket - $614.50.

Will start working on it Friday.
